During the Darker Days, Be the Light

Updated: Aug 11

Raise your hand if you feel like as the days get shorter, you tend to feel your positivity & ambition drop a bit? When the sun doesn't come up until 8 AM and it goes to bed at 4:00PM, it's harder to get out of bed early and to work on projects later into the evening.

Today we want to remind you that even though we don't have as many hours of daylight, we still have the same amount of time each day!

Here are a few simple tips to help you get the most of each day, even when the Mama World is callin' it quits for the day.

Keep your schedule

  • It may be hard to get out of bed when it’s still dark but grab your coffee and move your body

  • Move your phone to the kitchen so physically get out of bed to turn off your alarm clock

Embrace the season change

  • Enjoy the fun parts of the fall & winter months! Enjoy something warm - soup, hot chocolate

  • Get Festive AF: Decorate for Halloween, Thanksgiving & Christmas

  • Turn on the fireplace (or use Netflix's fireplace app)

  • More time to spend with your favorite people

Keep going outside + moving your body

  • Plan to get outside & get some fresh air! It is so important for our mental health

  • Put on some layers & go grab that morning coffee

Reignite indoor hobbies/excitement

  • Dive into a good book

  • Try out a new workout class

  • Scrapbooking/Sewing/Branch into your creative side!

  • Home Projects like remodels & painting

Prioritize Your Mental Health

  • Smile

  • Talk to someone if you feel like you are struggling

  • Enjoy some self-care

We hope you have a wonderful season, and remember, be the light in your world!
